To the untrained eye, they are simply old junk. But to us, and to the families who bring them to us, they are treasure chests. They are time machines made of celluloid. For decades, these little reels have silently captured the moments that defined our lives: birthday parties, summer vacations, the proud wave of a new graduate. But time is not kind to film. The colors fade, the acetate becomes brittle, and the memories stored within risk being lost forever. That is where the painstaking work begins.
